Having arrived from a warm country, living in Québec is a huge difference. At first, it’s hard to see beyond the cold, and winter can feel unfamiliar and isolating. The long periods of cold can make me feel homesick. The tiny sapling in the middle with melted snow represents how we can adapt and grow in an environment different from the one we’re used to, whether because of the climate or the language barrier. Over time, going for walks in nature, despite the cold, has helped me clear my mind and find beauty in the outdoors.
