JH Partners is here to help you with your essential needs. Sometimes, for reasons beyond our control, it can be difficult to get out to medical appointments, especially in winter. Long grocery store aisles or heavy bags can be a major challenge for some people. Taking the city bus can be difficult due to your physical condition or even impossible. Perhaps you no longer have a car or no longer drive.
We offer our transportation and accompaniment service to members of the English-speaking community in the Greater Québec City region who have temporarily or permanently lost their independence. The service is provided by volunteer drivers who have received specific training for this purpose. This service is intended for:
- Only people living in their own home, whether in a house, apartment or private seniors’ residence.
- More vulnerable people with physical, cognitive, mental or intellectual health issues.
- People who do not have access to regular or adapted public transportation.
- People who cannot find any other transportation resources within their family, social or community network.
Service coverage and fees
We offer our transportation and accompaniment service based on the availability of our volunteer drivers and according to the following order of priority:
- Appointments with healthcare professionals (in the public, private, or community network).
- Travel to services essential to daily life, such as grocery stores, pharmacies, financial institutions, etc. We reserve the right to review these types of requests differently due to the confidential nature of this service.
- We will evaluate all other requests on a case-by-case basis, according to the needs expressed and the availability of volunteer drivers.
- Fees apply depending on where you live and the distance you need to travel.
To request transportation or accompaniment
We will do our best to find a volunteer to help you, but we cannot guarantee that the service will be available. We require a minimum of two business days’ notice before the appointment date. Please call 418-684-5333 ext. 11835, or send an email to reception@jhpartners.net.
